Honey Infusions

Let's talk about honey. What happens to the body when you eat honey regularly? There is an increase in a hormone that reduces inflammation and improves blood sugar regulation, which in turn supports the pancreas, controlling your insulin levels. Honey also has properties that assist in treating infections, preventing hardening of arteries, and fighting metabolic syndrome—a cluster of conditions that increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. These conditions include increased blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess body fat around the waist, and abnormal cholesterol or triglyceride levels. Honey, something so accessible and delicious, has a host of benefits to support the body's health.

This brings me to infused honey and why I'm absolutely in love with it. Finding ways to nourish your body in the simplest ways is a personal mission of mine, so infusing honey with any herb that I may want to add to my routine for the next thirty days came naturally to me.

Ginseng root is an amazing resource available to us! It has a vast list of benefits: improving physical stamina, concentration, and memory; stimulating immune function; slowing the aging process; and relieving various other health problems, such as respiratory and cardiovascular disorders, depression, anxiety, and menopausal hot flashes. It also improves sexual dysfunction and sharper cognitive function.

Damiana is an herb known for its aphrodisiac qualities; however, it offers much more. It is used as a nervine (herbs that soothe the nervous system and have a calming effect on the emotions), anti-anxiety, and antidepressant as well. It tones the soft tissue lining in our central organs, particularly benefiting the reproductive, urinary, and digestive systems. As an aphrodisiac, it works in the body by improving libido in men and women, improving energy levels, fighting chronic fatigue, and improving stamina.

These are just two of the herbs infused into the "I'm Ready Honey." I live for the double dips, the two-bird-one-stone applications. This honey is a general wellness blend, with the added side effect of improving libido and supporting the reproductive system, along with its anti-anxiety and antidepressant properties, reminds me of how overwhelmingly awesome nature can be.
